Angelica Root (Angelica archangelica) Angelica archangelica is the European sister to its Chinese family member Dong quai (Angelica sinensis ). It grows up to 6 feet high, has yellowish to greenish small flowers, and has a very unique flavor. Some say it resembles juniper. Because of its flavor it has also a culinary use in beverages, liqueurs, and certain sweets.
Angelica Root finds its place medicinally as a remedy for colds and coughs among other uses. It is generally given as a stimulating expectorant throughout the whole of the pulmonary region. And as its name suggests (“Archangel”), it was believed to protect you “from pestilence (infections), death and the devil”.
We use organic, dried and cut angelica root for our “Immune Support” tea blend.
Astragalus Root (Astragalus membranaceus) has been used for thousands of years in Traditional Chinese Medicine to strengthen the immune system. Astragalus is used to prevent colds and upper respiratory infections, as well as lowering blood pressure, to treat diabetes, and to protect the liver. It also aids in recovery from both cancer and the side effects of cancer therapy, and enhances health in HIV.
Astragalus is about 16 – 36 inches tall, and has hairy stems with leaves made up of 12 – 18 pairs of leaflets. It is native to the northern and eastern parts of China as well as Mongolia and Korea.
The root is the medicinal part of this plant. We use organic, cut astragalus root for our “Immune Support” tea blend.
Pau D’arco (Tabebuia avellanedae) is one of the best known herbs from the Amazonian rainforest. It is retrieved from the inner bark of an evergreen tree that grows up to 125 feet tall and has pink to violet-colored flowers.
Pau d’arco is used to strengthen weakened immune systems. Conditions like chronic fatigue syndrome or myalgic encephalomyelitis (CFS or ME), fibromyalgia (FMS), Candida Albicans overgrowth (candidiasis, oral thrush, vaginal yeast infection, etc.), cancer and tumors, viruses such as human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), anti-biotic use, steroid use, etc. can significantly impair the reaction of our immune system.
We use wild harvested, dried pau d’arco bark for our “Immune Support” tea blend.
Ingredients: Organic kombucha made with filtered water, herbal tea blend (organic angelica root, organic astragalus, wild harvested pau d’arco), organic green tea, organic evaporated cane juice, elderberry concentrate.
